WICC Annual Community Barbecue

West Islip Chamber of Commerce (WICC) held its 2nd Annual Community Barbecue on Thursday night, July 24, at Our Lady of Consolation (OLC), in the beautiful courtyard. Chamber members were there to enjoy live music, performed by Robert Carpenter & Company, and sample red and white wines donated by West Islip Wines & Liquors, poured into souvenir wine glasses provide by WICC.

The barbecue was planned and executed to perfection by Arthur Bretton, Director of Culinary Services, and his team, and included such old time favorites as succulent Ribs, Grilled Chicken, Hamburgers and Hot Dogs, Corn-on-the-Cob, and a variety of summer salads, served under the expansive gazebo at OLC by its experienced staff.

West Islip's very own Sochi 2014 Olympian, Aiden Kelly, posed for photographs with guests and government officials. Among the dignitaries attending were Senator Phil Boyle, Councilman Steve Flotteron, and Assemblyman Joe Saladino, Assembly Andrew Raia, Legislator Tom Barraga, and Suffolk County Treasurer Angie Carpenter, board member.

YES, West Islip's Youth Enrichment Services, provided creative face painting for the children.

We’d like to thank everyone for attending, and our friends at Our Lady of Consolation for doing such a fine job hosting.

We hope you’ll join us next year!

Sincerely,

Nancy Donohue
President
